Arlington Green Expo A Resounding Success

by Owner on March 23, 2010

Yours truly and Elenor Hodges, Executive Director of Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment, at the Arlington Green Expo

As I previously mentioned, this last weekend was the date for Arlington, Virginia’s first Green Expo hosted by Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment. I headed over on Saturday and was treated to an amazing success for anyone interested in eco friendly home living!

About forty businesses and organizations were present, representing a broad spectrum of eco friendly home products and services. Some that come to mind include several solar panel companies; a water barrel installation company; several companies offering energy audits; several eco friendly home and landscape designers and architects; home insulation companies; bird and animal sanctuary volunteers; and many more. The most well-known business was probably REI, the outdoor equipment company.

I saw hundreds of people going through the doors and chatting with the many vendors and exhibitors. There were lots of raffles, crafts and games for kids, and tons of information for people to take with them.

I hope this is the first of many green expo’s in the Mid-Atlantic region given how popular it was for both vendors and residents looking for green living ideas for their homes, condos, or apartments. I was told by ACE that they had to turn vendors away because of space limitations, so I bet the next one will be even bigger and more successful.

Congratulations Arlington, ACE, and all involved in making the Green Expo a great success and a good time!
