[...] What Is An Organic Mattress? Looking for a definition of what makes an organic mattress? Here’s the quick scuttlebutt: nobody knows for sure, and anyone who says otherwise isn’t being straight with you. The same is true for many other items carrying green or organic claims. The other day I wrote a post on whether…… [...]

You're dead on with this post.

Organic is certified. Green claims really come down to who's doing the judging. ;-)

The mattress industry is becoming littered with greenwashers. Is 10% less petroleum in your mattress foam eco-friendly? Some say it is and they call it eco-foam, to others it's a joke.

Green life is growing exponentially... and greenwashers are being called out. I think as long as we continue moving in this direction we're good to go.

Buying a natural mattress is tricky business. Even the people selling it don't know the truth because they buy them ready made.

We've seen certified organic fabric with Poly Fill. lol.

Companies claiming wool as the fire barrier, which is a half-truth. The bottom wool layer is sprayed with boric acid because wool along can't pass the fire barrier tests unless it's pressed down to a rigid 2 inch sheet no one would feel comfortable sleeping on. It's still better than an all boric acid FR.

Look for certifications and people you trust. bottom line.
