Yesterday, I saw a man take about six mattresses to the local recycle place. He had taken a lot of work to remove all the bedding and fabric from the metal frame (the metal is the only part you can get money for), and had them stacked on top of each other in a trailer bed behind his truck.
I always just tried to get rid of my mattress, it never occurred to me to rip it apart and get money for the frame. So yeah, you can recycle your mattress and get money for part of it - though I'm sure it's gonna be a lot of work.
